Identity Vault Terms

Effective Date: 11 May 2026

These Identity Vault Terms govern your use of the Helium ID digital identity storage features (the "Vault"). By storing your identity documents and records within the Vault, you agree to these terms.

1. Digital Identity Storage

Helium ID allows users to securely store digital identity records, including government-issued identification documents and biometric verification data, within the Vault.

Users remain strictly responsible for complying with any laws or regulations requiring the physical possession or presentation of physical identity documents. The Vault is a digital complement to, not a legal replacement for, physical identification where mandated by law.

2. User Responsibilities

When using the Identity Vault, you agree:

  • not to upload false, altered, stolen, or unauthorized identity documents,
  • not to impersonate another person,
  • not to use the Vault for fraud or any unlawful activity,
  • to maintain the security of your credentials, devices, and biometric authentication methods.

3. Security & Protection

Helium ID uses multiple security controls designed to protect sensitive identity information stored in the Vault, including:

  • Encryption: Your data is protected by encryption at rest within the Vault and encryption in transit during any authorized sharing.
  • Access Controls: The Vault is secured via your device access controls, biometric authentication, and restricted backend access.
  • Infrastructure Security: We utilize secure cloud infrastructure, database protection, and continuous server monitoring.

4. Retention & Deletion

We retain the information in your Vault only for as long as reasonably necessary for verification, security, compliance, fraud prevention, operational purposes, and legal obligations.

You may request the deletion of eligible information from your Vault by contacting us. Please note that certain records may be retained where required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Helium ID shall not be liable for:

  • indirect damages,
  • outages affecting access to your Vault,
  • unauthorized user actions or compromised device credentials,
  • or losses arising from external service providers.

6. Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Identity Vault where fraud is suspected, platform abuse occurs, legal obligations require action, or these Terms are violated.
